Harken Traction Winch 500
The Harken Traction Winch provides users with a lightweight, CE certified, portable winch mounted to a heavy-duty adapter plate. The 2-speed 500 model is lightweight and weighs in just over 15 lbs. (15.4 lbs./7kg). The maximum rated load of 1,101 lbs. (490 kg) maximizes operator pulling power by up to 40 times.
Multiple mounting options provide versatility when working in challenging or remote environments. The pigtail line lead allows the rope to be installed without feeding the end of the rope through with no maximum line length. It also ensures correct alignment and loading of the winch for maximum efficiency. Stainless steel load-carrying gears and pins are used for maximum strength and durability. The unique drum design maximizes grip on the rope.
Simple to use and ideal for diverse applications – Utility masts, telecoms, marine, wind turbine transition piece davits, stage and theater rigging, construction, and confined space access and rescue
Design – The mounting plate is sculpted to remove excess weight and provides multiple attachment points without compromising strength
Fiber Rope – Designed for use with fiber rope up to 12.5 mm (1/2 in) diameter, reducing weight and allowing alignment to the load. Smooth surfaces and chafe-free design are amenable to fiber rope
Options – For use with multiple attachments depending on the environment and industry—from ratchet straps, M10 bolts, carabiners, or scaffold clamps
Maximum Rated Load (MRL) – Max rated load is 490 kg (1,101 lbs.)
Certification – Certified to EN 13157:2009 (Machinery Directive Harmonized Standard)

OPTIONAL Power Tool Adapter - Enables the use of a drill to drive the raction Winch 500 and Harken’s LokHead Winch.
It fits all standard drill chucks and can be used with drill speeds up to 60 RPM. For drill speeds up to 400 RPM, the Power Tool Adapter must be used with the Harken Protect-Connect. The Power Tool Adapter and a drill may be used with the NFPA-certified LokHead Winch Fire/Rescue Kit for human suspension. Likewise, using this adapter, a drill, the Traction Winch 500, and an NFPA-certified descent control device such as the CLUTCH as a progress capture device will satisfy the requirements of NFPA. Please note that use of a drill and this adapter to move personnel is not compliant with EN13157 which governs only hand-powered machines.
