CMC Harken LokHead Winch Kit - NFPA
The Harken LokHead Winch is a proven high-load, low-friction winch that is an excellent choice for rescue operations and work at height. The Harken LokHead Winch can be used anywhere a load needs to be lifted or lowered. Rigged to a tripod, it can be used for confined-space rescue operations, for load moving/hauling, and personnel hoisting.
The LokHead Winch features lightweight construction and ability to use an unlimited length of fiber rope make this self-tailing winch an ideal choice whether permanently mounted or used as a portable device. The ergonomic design reduces fatigue and optimizes operator strength, while safety features such as locking jaws protect against free fall or accidental release. The winch can be driven manually with the provided handle or with a compatible power drill.
The innovative LokHead Winch Kit (NFPA) from CMC meets the certification requirements of NFPA 2500 (1983). The LokHead Winch is perfect for fixed applications or temporary applications for rescue. The captive head allows the winch to be used safely and keeps the rope from accidentally releasing. The winch’s simple construction requires no lubrication and can be flushed clean with fresh water.

Features:
Diverse Applications – The Harken LokHead Winch can be used anywhere a load needs to be lifted and lowered. Rigged to a tripod, like an Arizona Vortex, CMC Triskelion, or most other tripods available, it can be used for confined space rescue, for load moving and hauling, and man-riding.
Ergonomic – Easy to rig and efficient, makes the most of the operator’s effort. The winch offers a 40:1 power ratio with 2 gears: high-speed for light-loads and low-speed for heavy-loads.
Operation – Can be driven manually with the provided 25 cm (10″) winch handle or can be used with a power drill.
Drill-Powered Operation – Winch can be driven by a power drill with the Power Tool Adapter (sold separatley) and Protect-Connect for human suspension (sold separately).
Reliable – The braking system provides descent control and worker protection against free-falls. The encapsulating jaw cover protects fingers and clothing from catching in the winch.
Versatile – Designed for use with life safety rope 10-12.7 mm (5/16-1/2 in) diameter and unlimited rope length.
Maintenance – Simple and easy. Clean and grease regularly as described in the product manual. Can be flushed with fresh water for cleaning/decon if needed.
