Sterling FCX Escape System

With the introduction of the FCX Descent Device and the FireTech2 100% Technora® escape rope, Sterling is now offer a wide range of the most advanced personal escape systems available. The Sterling FCX systems are customizable with your choice of escape rope, anchor hook and storage bag. Each of these systems comes pre-assembled.

Lightning GT Hook
The Lightning GT is UL certified to NFPA 1983 as an Escape Anchor. The Lightning GT Hook is precision-machined of aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum and heat treated for maximum strength. Weighing less than eight (8) ounces, the Lightning GT Hook is one of the lightest certified firefighting anchor hooks on the market.
The Lightning GT™ features a unique gated slot on the back side of the hook that allows the rope to be quickly wrapped around the handle two or more times for a secure lock-off. No need to work with extra rope, pass over the device, or tie any knots. Simply click, click and go.

Sterling SafeD Carabiner
The Sterling NFPA-rated SafeD carabiner is made from lightweight aluminum with a removable captive eye pin allowing a rope with a sewn eye to be attached securely.

Pocket Escape System Bag
The pocket of your bunker pants is the logical place to carry an escape system. However, this requires a method to keep everything organized. The Sterling Pocket Escape System Bag provides this solution in a versatile and durable package. With a reversible cover flap, the bag will integrate with any turnout’s existing hook and loop closure. High abrasion and wear areas are lined with ultra-durable Orca fabric to prevent damage to turnout gear from hooks and descenders.

Sterling Tech Extension Lanyard
The Sterling Tech Extension Lanyard is constructed of a hollow-braid Technora cord for superior heat resistance and is 9" in length. The Tech Extension is used to help extend the descent device way from the harness and lower the center of gravity to reduce the possibility of the firefighter inverting when the system is loaded.
