COVERT F1 Body Armor

The Covert Armor F1 is the complete body armor solution designed with direct Firefighter and EMS input. The F1 is designed for Fire and EMS personnel as a one size fits all solution that eliminates the need to have custom sized vests for every member. The F1 Universal Carrier insures you have a properly sized vest for each member if the situation warrants.

The F1 Universal Carrier is the perfect vest for dangerous domestic calls, patients that may become hostile or situations where first arriving personnel may have to operate with delayed law enforcement support. The colors and design of the Covert Armor F1 is based on Firefighter and EMS gear to help Firefighters and EMS personnel be recognized as a non-hostile/medical responders and "NOT" as law enforcement.  A suspect may be inclined to engage targets that resemble law enforcement if the body armor is the same color and design and firefighters and EMS are visibly unarmed. 

The F1 comes standard with Covert Armors standard NIJ 0101.06 certified Level IIIA soft armor panels inserted making this vest light enough to wear for longer periods of time and with greater range of motion than traditional soft armor vests.

Should you need to increase the protection level, the F1 has front and rear pockets that will accommodate Level III+ hard armor steel rifle plates (10”x 12”).  The Level III+ rifle plates are spall coated and are stand alone, multi-hit plates making the F1 a perfect choice for an Active Shooter event or other high-risk scenes where a higher level of protection may be needed.

In 2022 New York State enacted legislation restricting the sale and possession of body armor. This was done under New York State General Business Law Section 396-eee.
§396-eee. Unlawful sale or delivery of body armor.

No person, firm or corporation shall sell or deliver body armor to any individual or entity not engaged or employed in an eligible profession listed below:
•   Police Officer
•   Peace Officer
•   Federal Law Enforcement Officer
•   Persons in Military Service
•   Armored Car Guard
•   Security Guard
•   Firefighter
•   Emergency Medical Technician
•   Paramedic
•   Ambulance Driver and Attendant
•   Building Safety Inspector
•   Code Enforcement Officer

All individuals and entities must present proof of engagement in an Eligible Profession when purchasing body armor. Proof of engagement in an Eligible Profession may be satisfied by submission of:
•   A professional license issued by a federal, state or local government
•   An employment card or other credential issued by an employer

In the absence of the license or employment card, a form approved by the NY Department of State that is notarized, verifying that the purchaser is engaged in an eligible profession may be presented.
